Driving License Category C
A commercial driver's licence is a driving license of category C. It permits drivers to drive straight buses, trucks and combination vehicles. The license also permits drivers to operate passenger vans, small hazardous materials (HAZMAT), and combination vehicles.

Passenger vehicles

This includes straight trucks as well as dump trucks that have trailers. In the United States drivers with a class C license are required to complete additional training in order to be certified to operate these vehicles.
This license is required for firefighters, emergency/rescue teams or fire departments. However, it's not required in all jurisdictions. It is a great idea for young drivers to begin their driving career with this license since it will allow them to gain valuable experience in driving and develop their skill before they reach the legal age to get a full licence.
Before they can apply for an intermediate license, drivers under the age of 18 must complete 40 hours of driving practice and hold a learners permit for six months. They are not allowed to drive between the hours of 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., unless they have an important event to attend at school or at work. The number of passengers is restricted to one person younger than 19 years old. They are only allowed to drive if a licensed driver over 21 is in charge of them. These restrictions are in effect until the driver is 18 years old. They may also decide to enroll in a class to obtain the class H or E endorsement.
Hazardous materials
A Class C commercial driver's license allows drivers to operate single vehicles or combination vehicles that do not meet the requirements of Class A or Class B licenses. This license also allows drivers to operate passenger vehicles that carry 16 or more passengers, which includes the driver, as well as vehicles that transport freight classified as hazardous materials (hazmat). Drivers must pass a knowledge exam and undergo specialized training in order to obtain an endorsement on their CDL.
The H endorsement gives a trucker the ability to operate a vehicle that transports hazardous materials in placardable amounts. Combination vehicles
